Heavenly Gooey Butter Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, 1 egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press the cake mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan, making sure to press it all the way to the edges.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the remaining 2 eggs and beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture, beating until well combined.
  6. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake mixture in the pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set but still slightly gooey.
  8. Let the cake cool completely in the pan before cutting it into squares and serving.
